Blaise strummed the strings. Sounds left his instrument like a sweet siren's song through the night air.

He gazed out into the distance, admiring how the lush green forests ebbed and swayed with the construction of mountainside.

Something in the night air inspired him to play more sweet and melancholy.

"You play well," a voice stated.

Blaise paused and turned slowly to gaze upon a fey of milk-white skin walking toward him. Glancing down Blaise saw the sharp black nails press against the earth as the fey stepped.

"What's your name?" Blaise inquired. He'd never met a fey before but tales mentioned their docile nature and curiosity. A peaceful race or magical beings, the fey admired things that caused their minds to grow calm.

"I am called Ebran. May I listen to you play?"

"Of course."

Smiling to himself Blaise played for Ebran. He lost himself in his music and stopped when Ebran gasped.

"You make light!" Ebran exclaimed.

"What do you mean?"

Ebran moved closer and Blaise to make out the golden markings the fey bore in their skin. Ebran's were intricate swirls that coated almost every inch of his pale skin. Black eyes gazed at Blaise.

"I mean that you made light when you played your music. Try to sing for me," Ebran commanded.

"I don't sing," Blaise scoffed.

"Please, sing for me."

Grimacing at his embarrassment Blaise quietly sang for Ebran. He didn't sing any lyrics, as he couldn't think of any at the moment. Rather he simply vocalized, a haunting sound that seemed to surround the two isolated men.

Coughing, Blaise stopped singing and shrugged his shoulders. "Sorry, my throat hurt for a moment," he said.

Ebran stared intently. "You almost made light. Do it again."

He rubbed at his throat, still feeling anxious about exposing his singing voice. But Ebran's otherworldly energy calmed Blaise and slowed his racing heart.

Blaise sang again and didn't shy away and Ebran touched his shoulder.

A sudden heat filled his throat again, but it didn't hurt. Rather, the heat seemed to rise up, warming rather than burning his neck before reaching the back of his teeth.

He reached to touch the base of his throat, where he could feel his pulse and the heat seemed to be strongest. Then from out of his lips came an almost wispy tendril of warm, yellow-white light. The light came out and Blaise continued to sing until it was practically dancing in front of his eyes.

"You did it, Blaise," Ebran whispered and pulled his hand away.

Emotion suddenly took Blaise and he closed his eyes and stopped singing. Wiping the tears form his cheeks he sniffed and looked up, no more light. Glancing around Ebran was nowhere to be found.

A white fey, Blaise reflected. "I made light!" he yelled into the night air.

Twas a night he would never forget.
One of my favorite things to do on this site is find talented artists and write stories about their Original Characters (OC). I usually include my own characters because why not?

I recently discovered :iconeksafael: and was instantly taken to her mysterious and handsome MC, Blaise. Even more, I was inspired by the piece, <da:thumb id="454186949">

All characters go to their respective owners. Blaise will not be present in my fantasy series. This is a fictional piece written by a fan of the character and shouldn't be considered an accurate portrayal of the Blaise's personality nor the piece of art for which is it inspired.

Thank you! It was so interesting to see how you imagine my character, especially considering how little you know about him. I really enjoyed this.
